Unregistered vehicles: Crackdown to be launched

Sindh Excise and Taxation (E&T) department on Monday decided to kick off crackdown against unregistered vehicles. This was decided at a performance review meeting headed by provincial E&T minister Mukesh Kumar Chawala at his office here. The minister during the meeting directed to constitute vigilance teams and depute them at all main arteries to nab the drivers and confiscate unregistered vehicles.
He also ordered the officers concerned to make one window operation more effective to facilitate the people who visited Civic Centre and redress their grievances. He said, "It is a must to maintain the proper record of vehicles with their owners as it is a part of National Action Plan," adding that the department on the directives of CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah taking all possible measures to eradicate corruption and facilitate taxpayers at maximum. Director General E& T Shabir Ahmed Shaikh and director E&T Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui also attended the meeting.
