PITB striving to improve transparency, efficiency of departments

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) is striving to improve transparency and efficiency of all departments of Punjab government apart from assisting the federal government and other provinces in Pakistan through skilful use of modern technology. Chairman Punjab IT Board (PITB) Dr Umar Saif said this while addressing a delegation of Islamabad based think tank Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) at Arfa IT Tower on Monday.
The delegation was headed by PILDAT President Ahmad Bilal Mehboob accompanied by Joint Director Aasiya Riaz and Project Manager Mehrbano Raja. Dr Saif gave an overall brief of PITB's prominent ICT projects including citizen facilitation centres, smart monitoring of schools, bio-metric attendance system in Police and hospitals, Citizen Feedback Monitoring Program and many other interventions devised for education, health, police departments and courts that have viably helped ensure transparency and improve governance in the province. The PILDAT delegation appreciated Dr Umar Saif for his vibrant leadership and direction that has led PITB to achieve its goals. It also discussed various fields of interest where both organisations might undergo for a collaboration to work jointly.
