Azadi Train to reach Multan today

The Azadi train will reach at Multan on Tuesday (today) and will leave for Bahawalpur on August 18. .The Azadi Train prepared through joint efforts of Pakistan Railways, Ministry of Information Broadcasting and National Heritage (M/o IB&NH) and ISPR.
As part of M/o IB&NH, Press Information Department (PID), Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications (DEMP) and Lok Virsa have contributed in this project. Pakistan Railways Multan authorities have completed all arrangements to receive this train at platform No 3 to facilitate the general public while special security arrangements are being finalised for the safety of visitors.
The main purpose for launching Azadi Train is to highlight the aspects of Freedom Movement, sacrifices of armed forces for defence of the country and culture and heritage of all the regions. The train will return to Rawalpindi on September 13. The month-long journey by Azadi Train will cover more than 50 cities across all the four provinces of the country.
