KATI chief for taking steps to cash in on GSP Plus opportunity

President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Zahid Saeed has urged the government to take every possible step to capitalise Generalised System of Preference (GSP) Plus status. He said that extension of this status is not only vital for our exports but it is also necessary to face competitive challenges in international market.
He said that importance of this issues demands focused efforts and the government should also take business community into confidence to create a diverse campaign for the extension of GSP plus status. He said that after getting GSP Plus status for EU, 90 per cent of Pakistani products get access without duties in 28 European countries, and our exports increased due to this status.
President KATI said that despite its economic problems Pakistan is fighting terrorism on forefront, on the other hand natural calamities developed many challenges too. Any nation could not fight back poverty, illiteracy and unlawfulness without stable economy, he said.
