Customs foils currency smuggling attempts

Pakistan Customs foiled the smuggling of millions of US dollars, Saudi Riyals and Pakistani currency to Afghanistan in three separate operations conducted at Torkham Pak-Afghan border. The customs authorities have also arrested three accused. In the first raid, customs authorities while foiling smuggling of millions of US dollars and Saudi Riyals also arrested an accused identified as Zabihullah son of Haji Dil Agha.
In the second raid, the customs authorities foiled the smuggling of 1.7 million Pakistani currencies and arrested the alleged Afghan smuggler Sher Khan son of Ziarat, resident of Jalalabad, Afghanistan, while in third similar of attempt of the smuggling of attempt of Pakistani currency worth Rs 4 million from Afghanistan to Pakistan. The customs authorities also arrested Afghan national Said Jalal son of Asadullah. After registration of cases, customs authorities had obtained the physical remand of the two accused and initiated further investigation into the case.
