Fake beverages PFA seals factory

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed a factory situated in Aamir Town, Harbanspura, on Friday on the charges of producing fake soft drinks of different famous brands and got five persons arrested working in the unit. The raid was conducted by Data Ganj Bukhsh and Shalimar Town teams of the Authority which confiscated 1,998 fake bottles, 7,000 empty bottles and the machinery. A FIR was lodged with the police station concerned for further action.
A special team headed by PFA Director Operations Ayesha Mumtaz conducted raid in Mohlanwal area of the city where it checked the milk being brought into the city. The team confiscated 19,500 liters of substandard milk and six vehicles. Samples of milk were sent to the laboratory for further analysis. The Samanabad team sealed canteen of Wapda Hospital for not following the earlier issued directives, poor cleanliness situation, dirty freezer and using substandard spices.
