Dengue virus hits Malakand

Dengue virus has broken out in Batkhela, district headquarters of Malakand where 15 persons were admitted in district hospital Lower Dir in three days. According to Deputy Commissioner (DC), Malakand Khaista Rehman Khan said that precautionary measures have already been put in place and hospital administrations have been directed to specify separate ward for the affected persons.
He further said that fumigation has been started in the most affected areas and to be extended to other parts as well. Meanwhile, Focal Person of District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ), Dr Tanvir has said that out of total 15 patients two were brought from Lower Dir while rest were from Batkhela, adding that eight were discharged soon after stabilised and seven were still hospitalised.
