Sindh government imposing dictatorship on seminaries: Fzal

22 Aug, 2016

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has alleged that the PPP-led Sindh government is trying to impose its dictatorship on religious seminaries of the province, which was condonable. Addressing the JUI-F workers convention here on Sunday, Fazal-ur-Rehman said that a one-sided law in this regard would not be acceptable.
He said that the JUI-F was established in 1919 and he was happy that it was almost a century old. He also said that during the by-elections in Taunsa, his party workers and loyalists were subjected to assault and torture.
Fazlur Rehman asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to investigate the recently held Taunsa by-elections for rigging.
He demanded that the government to withdraw all fake cases registered against JUI-F workers at once and claimed that the Sindh government wanted to impose dictatorship on seminaries through legislation.
