Punjab ACE receives 1,829 complaints in July

"Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment received 1829 complaints of corruption during last month out of which 1,391 were approved for regular inquiry and 469 referred to the concerned departments for necessary action." Director General Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab, Brigadier Muzaffar Ali Ranjha (Retd) revealed this while speaking at the monthly review meeting of the Regional Directors on Monday.
He said 125 cases were registered after completion of inquiry process and judicial action was taken on 52 whereas challan of 37 cases were sent to Anti Corruption Courts. He said 80 accused involved in corruption were arrested in a number of raids, besides a number of trap raids were also conducted to arrest the accused red-handed while taking gratification. He directed the Regional Directors to review and dispose of long awaiting cases, pending with the Establishment within a period of 15 days under intimation to the Director General.
