Rizwan said that some elements had misguided the government for imposition of 300 percent duty on mobile phone accessories and it believed that this will directly hurt the economy. "It seems that some government officials are not in favour of legal import of mobile phone accessories and taken some steps to promote corruption", he added.
He said that there is need to promote legal import of mobile phone accessories by easing import process and lifting of duty. President KEDA has urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for removal of 300 percent duty on import of mobile phone accessories to facilitate the mobile phone user and importers.
