The Met Office on Friday forecast a fresh monsoon rainy spell for almost entire country from Saturday to Monday. It said that strong monsoon currents were entering the country as a westerly wave was also expected to grip upcountry in the next 24 hours.
Under the influence of new rainy system, rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls expected at a number of places in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Kashmir over the period. Rain, thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are likely to hit scattered places in, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and parts of Balochistan. Heavy downpour may trigger flash flooding and landslides in the vulnerable areas of Punjab, Balochistan and KPK.
