Expatriate Pakistanis: Punjab government to set up special cells

Punjab government has decided to set up special cells at the district level to redress complaints of the expatriate Pakistanis. The Additional Chief Secretary Shamail Ahmad Khawaja presiding over a meeting of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC), Punjab on Friday, saying that the cells would closely co-ordinate with local police and other departments to timely dispose of complaints of the overseas Pakistanis.
The Commissioner OPC Afzaal Bhatti said that the OPC was in close liaison with the administration to solve the problems of expats. "They are global ambassadors and we would facilitate them by all means," he added. Shamail Khawaja said that the Punjab government is committed to provide full support and cooperation to the overseas Pakistanis with regard to their problems. Director General OPC, Additional DG Police and DIG attended the meeting, while DCO and police high ups of Bahawalpur district participated through video link.
