Medical stores: DQCB to refer 13 cases to Drug Court

District Quality Control Board had decided to refer 13 cases against the medical stores to Drug Court for prosecution involved in sale of medicines without drug licenses and other relevant offences. This decision was taken by the court in a meeting which held under the chairmanship of DCO Salman Ghani at his office committee room.
EDO Health Dr Nawazish Goraya, Deputy District Prosecutor Sajeela Nazeer, Secretary Board Arif Shehzad, members' board Captain Dr Muhammad Siddique, Ghulam Sabir and Drug Inspectors were present in the meeting. Reviewing the reports of actions taken by the Drug Inspectors against the medical stores, the board decided to lodge FIR against a medical store involved in selling unregistered, unwarranted and spurious drugs.
On this occasion warning was issued to a medical store while 11 cases were adjourned for summoning the qualified drug license holders. The DCO directed the drug inspectors for launching the result oriented operation against the sale of medicines without drug license and without sale/purchase record and said that strict legal action should be taken against the medical stores involved in selling unregistered, unwarranted and spurious drugs. He said that the nefarious act on producing and selling the spurious drugs should be curbed strictly and dens of the drug mafia should be unearthed through taking secret information from the relevant quarters.
