BoK opens first-ever branch at Torkham border

Secretary Law and Order Fata Secretariat, Dr Atta-ur-Rehman on Friday inaugurated first-ever The Bank of Khyber (BoK) branch at Torkham border of Landikotal tehsil. Secretary Law & Order who was chief guest on the occasion formally cut the ribbon to open the bank. Political Agent, Khyber Agency, Khalid Mehmood, Assistant Political Agent, Rahim Mehsud, forces and administration officials, bank official Atif Hanif and Manger Rehmat Khan were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Atta-ur-Rehman declared the Bok a good omen for enhancing trade related activities in Torkham area and adding that the premises of bank was not enough to facilitate huge number of consumers which needs to be developed. Political Agent Khyber asked for establishing of more branches in Bara and Tirah Valley for facilitating tribesmen to restart businesses there. The BoK official Atif Hanif said that under Islamic banking system of BoK, the branch had been opened to provide online banking facilities to government officials, traders and pensioners.
