The K-Electric teams managed to re-energize the feeders that tripped due to heavy rains on Saturday. According to the KE's spokesperson, K-Electric's 'rapid response teams' remained alert following prediction of rain. The teams responded swiftly to restore electricity to the affected areas. Of the affected feeders, 50 were re-energized immediately whereas the remaining 200 feeders were restored within a few hours.
Affected areas included North Karachi, Landhi, parts of Gulshan-e-Iqbal and North Nazimabad, as well as few pockets in Defence. The overall system remained intact during the downpour. Power supply to strategic installations including Airport and Dhabeji remained uninterrupted. The spokesperson said that the KE helpline and ground teams continued to work round the clock to address any localized faults. Consumers are advised to stay away from broken wires, electrical poles and transformers. Moreover, customers are requested to inform about broken wires or lodge complaints by calling at 118 or 021-99000. Queries may also be sent via SMS to 8119 or through KE's digital platforms.
