Following the heavy cloudburst on Saturday afternoon, two flights were diverted to other airports to avoid any untoward incident. According to sources, PIA flight, which was coming from Faisalabad, was diverted to Nawab Shah while Air Blue had also landed its Lahore-Karachi flight to Muscat during heavy downpour in metropolis.
Meanwhile, sources in Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) dispelled the impression that flights were diverted on the directives of the authority; saying that airlines had taken said decision on their own and CAA had nothing to do with it. Later, both flights were returned to Karachi Airport.
