Saudi prince, COAS discuss Middle East unrest

Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defence on Monday held a detailed discussion with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on regional security with particular focus on the Middle East situation. The Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, who is second deputy premier and minister of defense of Saudi Arbia, was on a two-day visit to Pakistan, on the invitation of the government, also called Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
A statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that Saudi Defence Minister and Deputy Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman called on General Raheel Sharif, the COAS.
"During the meeting regional security with a particular focus on the Middle East, issues of bilateral relations including defence cooperation and collaboration came under discussion," it added.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Secretariat said that Saudi Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
It said that Nawaz Sharif and Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud pledged to further enhance the bilateral ties between the two brotherly countries and strengthen their cooperation in diverse fields.
"Both the leaders discussed issues of mutual interest at regional and international levels," it added.-PR
