Punjab Health Foundation being automated

The Punjab Health Foundation (PHF) is being automated and the whole process from receiving of applications to issuance of interest-free loan would be online. Managing Director Punjab Health Foundation Dr Suhail Saqlain said here Wednesday that steps are being taken to make the foundation a vibrant and effective institution and with the help of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), all the system of PHF would be online that would promote merit and transparency in the system.
Dr Suhail Saqlain informed that within two months of his posting as Managing Director Punjab Health Foundation, he has taken a number of solid steps for the betterment of the foundation and during that period, loans of Rs 25.178 million have been released to the doctors whereas recovery of Rs 6.731 million has also been made.
Further, he said, the scope of the foundation is also being enhanced and soft loan to the people associated with allied health sciences would also be offered so that if somebody wants to contribute and provide healthcare services to the people, could be given opportunities for this purpose.
He disclosed that Smart Loan Scheme has been introduced by the PHF with the collaboration of Akhuwat Foundation. He further said that Vision Clinics for the treatment of eye diseases with the technical assistance of Institute of Ophthalmology, King Edward Medical University would also be set up in the province for which Punjab Health Foundation would provide loans to the eye specialists. Dr Suhail Saqlain informed that the Board of Directors of PHF would meet on 7th September top take important decisions.
