Former cricketers demand removal of skipper Azhar Ali

01 Sep, 2016

Former cricketers have expressed 'disappointment' over dismal performance of Team Pakistan in the ongoing ODI series against England and suggested replacement of the ODI skipper Azhar Ali. England has already won three of the five match ODIs series setting a new world ODI record of 445 runs in their third match against Pakistan. Two ODI matches are yet to be played.
After humiliating defeat at the hands of host England in the third ODI, the PCB chief Sheharyar Khan also held a meeting and discussed reasons of poor performance of Team Pakistan with former cricketers and experts. Former cricketers Rameez Raja and Wasim Akram suggested to replace Azhar Ali with Sarfraz Ahmed. Sources in the PCB told Business Recorder that PCB Chairman is awaiting reports from team management and a final decision about future of ODI skipper would be taken in light of these reports.
