Mardan court blast Lawyers observe strike accross KP

A day after suicide attack at Mardan district court, lawyers' community across the province on Saturday observed complete strike, while business activities were remained standstill in district Mardan. The legal fraternity boycotted from courts, as announced three-day mourning across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Lawyers offered fateha Khawani for the martyred lawyers at bar room.
Large number of elected representatives and people belonging to different walks of life visited bar room Mardan and expressed grief and sorrow over loss of precious lives in terror attack. They strongly condemned by Friday Mardan district and sessions court terrorists attack that left at least 14 people were killed and more than 50 wounded, the latest assault targeting Pakistan's legal community.
On Saturday, markets and business centers remained closed in the Mardan city to mourn the incident. Lawyers are present at the bar room where political leaders and prominent personalities are visiting them to express solidarity and offer fateha for the victims. Reportedly, several injured persons have been discharged from Mardan Medical Complex after treatment. Funeral prayers of all the martyred was offered in different parts of the district.
Talking with this scribe the District Bar Association (DBA) president Ameer Hussain Advocate said that DBA has announced three days mourn and they will also boycott the court proceeding. He added that after Monday with the connivance of DBA members he will call meeting of DBA and will announce his future plan. He added that security of the court was red alert during the incident and there was no security lapse.
Majority of the lawyers termed the terrorism act was occurred at Mardan's district court due to security and intelligence lapse. They added that from where the suicide attacker came to Mardan and who facilitated him. They added that it is need of time that government should focus on it. Meanwhile, on the call of Markaz-e-Tanzeem-e-Tajiran (MTT) complete shutter down strike was observed in all over the city to show solidarity with the families of martyred.
Meanwhile, the Counter terrorism department (CTD) registered first information report (FIR) of the suicide attack against unknown suicide attacker. Blood and flesh-stained walls of the courts and lawyers offices, books, desk, shoes, chairs of lawyers, lying in the court, created an atmosphere of gloom and doom.
Funeral prayers of the three police cops' constable Ishtiyaq resident of Ghari Ismailzai, Junaid resident of Toru and Mohammad Azam resident of Ghari Ismail were offered at police line on Friday. Majority of the martyred funereal prayers was offered in the evening. The martyred were laid to rest in their ancestral graveyard. Relatives, well-wishers and people belonging to different walks of life attended the last rituals of the martyred.
Besides, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Police chief Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani and other police official, a large number of people including different political party's leaders, elected members visited the houses of martyred and expressed grief and sorrow over loss of precious lives.
