Popular Indian singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has sung many hit songs for Shah Rukh Khan. From 'Yes Boss' to 'Main Hoon Na', most of the songs that Abhijeet sang for SRK ruled the chartbuster.
Abhijeet recently stirred a controversy, when revealed that he made superstars with his voice. During a media event, the playback singer added that SRK was a superstar only till the time he sang for him.
“I made superstars with my voice. Till the time I sang for Shah Rukh Khan, he was a rock star. When I stopped singing for him he came down to Lungi Dance,” said the singer, India Today reported.
Abhijeet is known for singing iconic songs such as Chalte Chalte, Main Koi Aesa Geet Gaun (Yes Boss), Zara Sa Jhoom Lun Main (DDLJ), Tauba Tumhare Ye Ishaare (Chalte Chalte) and Tumhain Jo Maine Dekha (Main Hoon Na). His voice was almost synonymous with SRK.
The singer went on to reveal why he decided to stop singing for him. “It was a very small reason I stopped singing for Shah Rukh. 'In Main Hoon Na', they showed everyone from a spot boy to everyone else, but the singers”.
“The same thing happened with 'Om Shanti Om'. Stars sang 'Dhoom Tana', it was my voice. But it wasn't shown anywhere. The self-respect was hurt. Why should I ask them to add my name? The problem is I don't lack anything. So why should I ask for this?,” he further added.
