JI KP to hold religious scholars' gathering in Peshawar today

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will hold a religious scholars gathering at Al Markaz-e-Islami in Peshawar today. Thousands of religious clerics across the province would participate in the gathering, 'Dastar-e-Fazelaat' told the JI provincial ameer, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan. He further said JI Central ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq will also address the gathering. He said awards to more than one thousand religious leaders, would be given during the event.
Strongly supporting registration of religious seminaries, JI provincial chief demanded asked the registration process should be made easier. He also asked the federal government to stop propaganda against the Ulema and religious seminaries.
Terming the interest-based banking system as un-Islamic and against constitution of the country, he called for promotion Islamic banking system across the country. He expressed concern over screening of Indian drama, and promotion of western culture in the society. He said the secularism and liberalism agenda could not acceptable to them.
"We will also not accept western-NGO approved, educational syllabus in the country, JI chief said. He further demanded of the government to implement Islamic system as per constitution of the country.
He criticised the successive governments for failure to overcome with energy crisis, improvement in poor infrastructure, along with mitigating the miseries of the poor masses in the country.
He also demanded of the government to restore the Friday as weekly off as the government had no justification in this regard and it was also the wishes of the whole nation to declare Friday as holy day.
