SBBWU Peshawar's 12th foundation day observed

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) Peshawar observed its 12th foundation day with great zeal and fervour. The university was decorated with colorful flowers and arts works made by students. The students of various departments displayed their final year projects at stalls while the audience took huge interest in their attractive works.
The function was attended by scholars, students, staff, teachers and distinguished personalities. The audience was entertained by students of the university with speech and dramas and local singers with music.
On this occasion, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Executive Director Dr Ghulam Raza Bhatti was the chief guest while the other dignities were included Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Secretary for Technical Education Farah Hamid Khan, parliamentarian of different parties, and vice chancellor of other universities. Addressing to the participants SBBWU Peshawar Vice Chancellor Dr Professor Razia Sultana said that the global perspective of the education demands to give more opportunity to women in the field of higher education. She said that university has taken pace speedy to provide more human racecourse for the need of economical, social stability of the country and have the commitment fill the gap lift by the past decade by female education.
The VC said that several steps have taken for the safety of students and security of the university. She shared that security guards have appointed while latest weapons have purchased for these guards, she added that security check posts are constructed in different places and government also provide them police personal for security.
On this occasion, Professor Gulam Raza Bhtti distributed 12 laptops among the M.Phl and PhD students under the Prime Minister Laptop scheme and shared that since the inception of this programme HEC has distributed around 98,000 laptops in the first phase of the scheme. He informed that more than 100000 will be distribute in the second phase. "HEC trying its level best in the capacity of its fund to facilitate the female students in the field and out hundred students 48 is the percentage of the female students," he added.
KP Secretary for Technical Education Farah Hamid Khan said SBBWU Peshawar has outstanding track record in the field of high education and in the future context the institution would be best place to fill the gap of the female educated staff for the long term prosperity of the country. She said that the region has great expectation from the university and pace of the progress of the university on its 12th founding indicate that the generous struggle of the staff members will reach it to its zenith of success and glory.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company Chief Executive Officer Mohsin Syed said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will overwhelm the region with industrial zone which will demand from the academic for energetic and fresh entrepreneur. He said the university should brace up their students to get benefit out of this grandeur opportunity and play its due role as women folk in this industrial revolution.
