Instagram stopped working on Wednesday afternoon and people were having problem loading their profiles. Users were instead greeted with empty profiles and a message that the app ‘cannot refresh feed’ or ‘5xx Server Error’.
However, after few hours the problem was resolved and the photo-sharing app was back on track. The problems come amid a difficult time for Instagram. The company's two founders left in recent days amid rumours that it disagreed with Facebook over how the company should be run.
Its website and app both were inaccessible. Most of the users were unable to access Instagram on desktop and mobile. And as usual, people flocked Twitter to complain about the issue.
No official statement has been released by the officials about what caused Instagram to be available.
Facebook announced on Monday that Adam Mosseri will take over as the head of Instagram following the sudden resignations of co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger last week.
