Hajj operation: 24,547 pilgrims immunised against polio

In-Charge of Polio vaccination center at Haji camp Hayatabad Hazir Mohammad Khan said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Polio Emergency Operation center has immunized 24,547 intending pilgrims in last 42 days of Hajj operation. In statement, he added that Hajj flights began from Peshawar on July 25 and for this purpose special guidance counter was set up in the camp. Besides polio vaccines the pilgrims have also been administered vaccines of other diseases.
Hazir Khan said that the counter was established by emergency operation center Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which was aimed to facilitate the Hajj pilgrims on the spot. He maintained that Hajj operation for the people of FATA was completed on Monday and during 42 days operation a total of 24,570 pilgrims were immunized with polio vaccines. The Hajj pilgrims fully cooperated with the team of emergency operation cell and they vowed to cooperate in the future to immunize their children against polio disease.
