Partly Facetious: Why does PM have to go himself?

06 Sep, 2016

"So Mian sahib is off on another foreign tour?"
"Hey this is important; he is off to attend the seventy first UN general assembly meeting and will raise the Kashmir issue there."
"Why does he have to go himself? The guy is clearly not well, I saw him addressing various jalsas during the week past and seriously he did not look well."
"Two things: first he is the Foreign Minister so he can't send one of his two advisors..."
"He has a lot more than two advisors."
"Two are dedicated to foreign affairs."
"Ah that's typical Mian sahib strategy for dealing with internal non-family ambition supporters: one controls and undermines the other. That's the way the cookie must crumble."
"Don't be facetious and the second thing is that if anything happens to Mian sahib then the blame has to rest with the Khan and the Qadri/Sheikh Rashid gang."
"Sorry?"
"Our leaders identify their possible murderers during their lifetime, remember Benazir Bhutto..."
"She was not in government at the time and..."
"Change is with us my friend. The pressure on Mian sahib because of the protests has compelled him to come out and hold his own jalsas under the guise of inaugurating road projects and once he addresses the crowd assembled for the inauguration he thinks of the Khan and gets angry and you know and I know that anger is not good for a heart patient."
"Oh dear me! One question though: why doesn't Mian sahib like to celebrate eid in this country? I don't think he has been in the country even once for any of the two eids since he became the prime minister this time around."
"Why do you care? It's not as if he would spend it with you personally? His office issues greetings to people like you and..."
"But...."
"There is no but anyway it's not as if he is doing anything against the law.....between his religious and family obligations and you know that more than half of his family is not resident in this country..."
"I get it."
