Smeda, Unido hold sensitisation workshop on SPX

Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) in collaboration with United Nations Industrial Organisation (Unido) on Tuesday organised a sensitisation workshop on SPX programme here in Regional Office of the Smeda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 15 SMEs from the light engineering sector participated in the workshop. Deputy General Manager (DGM) (Outreach Smeda/Executive Manager SPX Pakistan) Chaudhry Ahmed Mansoor, Waqar Haider (AM/SPX Officer Pakistan) explained the concept of SPX Pakistan and the activities to be undertaken were shared with stakeholders.
The stakeholders showed deep interest in the activities of SPX Pakistan and appreciated that this is a timely initiative by Smeda, considering the changing dynamics of international business operations to meet the future subcontracting needs nationally and internationally.
The Subcontracting and Partnership and Exchange (SPXs) initiated by UNIDO to achieve inclusive and sustainable industrial development in the developing countries. SPX Centres specifically helps local enterprises to successfully meet the challenges of globalisation and to take advantage of the emerging industrial subcontracting, outsourcing and supply chain opportunities.
