The donor British Department for International Development has praised the Punjab Education Foundation as an internationally famous model of public private partnership in Punjab's education sector. A six-member DIFD delegation led by senior Education Adviser Edward Davis visited a PEF sponsored school in the city on Tuesday and examined its educational standards. They also put up different questions to teachers and students about their standard of education.
The DFID delegation also held a meeting with Chairman PEF Qamar ul Islam Raja and discussed matters relating to expansion of education in Punjab. PEF chairman said that education-wise backward areas have been identified through Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and private entrepreneurs are encouraged to open schools in these areas in partnership with the foundation.
