Ballot for subsidised agriculture machinery today

Balloting, for provision of latest agricultural implements on subsidised rates under a two year programme worth over Rs 1.16 billion, will be held today (Thursday) at union council level in each district of Punjab. The provincial government is providing agricultural machinery for cotton, wheat, paddy, maize, sugarcane and ground nut farmers in 2,486 rural union councils under the directives of the Chief Minister Punjab.
According to a spokesman of the provincial agriculture department, balloting this year is being held in presence of the Assistant Commissioners, DSPs concerned, Deputy District Officer Agriculture (Extension), public representatives and water management officers. Lists of successful farmers will be displayed soon after the balloting. Successful farmers or firms providing agricultural services will be given 50 percent subsidised rotavator, disc harrow, seed drill, chisel plough, sugar cane ridger, sugar cane cutter and multi crop seed drill.
