Fata reforms to reflect aspirations of tribesmen: Jhagra

Governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that reforms in Fata will be made in accordance with the aspirations of the tribal people and to do this, every possible mean will be applied. This he stated while presiding over a meeting of the Fata Reforms Committee at Governor's House, Peshawar on Wednesday.
The Chairman of the committee and the Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak; Advisor to Prime Minister on Security Affairs, Lieutenant General Nasir Janjua (Retd); provincial senior ministers, Inayatullah and Sikandar Khan Sherpao; Advisor to provincial Chief Minister, Mushtaq Ghani; Chief Secretary, Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary SAFRON, Arbab Shahzad, IGP, Nasir Khan Durrani, Additional Chief Secretary, FATA Fida Wazir and other concerned senior officials were also present on this occasion.
Sartaj Aziz while highlighting salient features of the report of the FATA Reforms Committee also mentioned certain steps underway in this respect. In this connection, he pointed out that implementing land reforms; and replacement of FCR with Tribal Areas Rawaj Act are also the part of the reforms proposal. Similarly, he added, establishing judiciary system under the Peshawar High Court and at the first phase, holding local government election in Fata are also included in the proposals submitted by the committee.
