Former AJK Prime Minister and current PTI AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhary on Monday announced to stage a strong protest demonstration in front of United Nations General Assembly building on September 26 against Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir during address of Indian Prime Minister Narindra Modi or Indian Foreign Minister there.
"India has been committing grave Human Rights violations in Occupied Kashmir for the last 72 days and killing innocent Kashmiri women and children in held valley and Kashmiris from all over the world would unmask Indian brutality before the world community," he told a press conference. He said, Kashmiris would also hold protest rallies at several European cities including London, Brussels, Paris, and the Hague on the same day.
He said, Kashmiris were propelling indigenous movement and protesting Indian subjugation in the held valley, adding, sitting idle on this occasion would dent ongoing movement for the right to self determination against Indian occupation. While criticising Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, he said visit proposed speech in the UN Assembly would be a futile exercise, adding, Kashmiris wanted him to truly represent sentiments of 200 million Pakistanis and Kashmiris instead of delivering a formal speech.
He said, Nawaz Sharif was sending Members of National Assembly abroad to project Kashmir issue which is a favour for them as these MNAs had no mandate for Kashmir issue. "Instead, Nawaz Sharif should send delegation of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (AJK Chapter to muster support for Kashmir cause" he added.
Sultan Mahmood said, the world community only listen voice of Kashmiris and it considered them true representatives of Kashmiris. When asked would he accept any offer to lead a government delegation, he said, he never highlighted Kashmir issue through public money. "I always highlighted Kashmir issue at international fora and travelled on own expenses," he added.
He informed that Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir had announced one-week protest programme which reflected that they would not come under Indian pressure and they would continue to raise their voice against Indian atrocities. He said, people belonging to different school of thoughts especially the Human Rights activists and social workers and Indian minorities would be invited to participate in the rally.
Sultan Mahmood said, the participants of the rally would be holding Kashmir flags and they would express complete solidarity for their Kashmiri brethren who were propelling indigenous movement for the right to self determination. He said that permission for the protest demonstration had already been sought. He said, "We are trying to stage a protest demonstration in front of Indian High Commission in Canada or Canadian parliament to protest Indian human rights violations in occupied Kashmir."-PR
