SSU marks moot on peace, progress & prosperity

The experts including foreign guests, senior and retired police officers underlined the need for adopting concrete practical measures to ensure dignity and equality to all human beings without any discrimination. They expressed these views while talking at a roundtable International Conference on `Peace, Progress and Prosperity Go Together' held at Special Security Unit (SSU) Headquarters here on Wednesday.
The conference was organised in connection with International Day of Peace: `Building Blocks' by Niaz A. Siddiki, former Inspector General of Police Sindh/CEO, MCTS and Fouzia Tariq COO, MCTS in collaboration with Special Security Unit Sindh Police. The participants said that poverty, hunger, social inequality and diseases etc are the main factors which pose challenges for peace and create fertile grounds for conflict between the people and therefore it is very essential to address these issues.
Sustainable development and prosperity of people can only be ensured by making efforts for peace on the ground. They said that there is a need to move forward and take concrete steps to protect human rights of every human being globally without discrimination. The speakers said that no nation and country could progress and achieve the goal of prosperity without existing of peace in their areas so that it is utmost duty of all the stake holders to make concentrated efforts in this regard. The police officers have great responsibilities in monitoring public services.

Later, the participants paid tributes to the martyred Commandos of Special Security Unit and lit candles at the martyrs ground to pay condolences.
