The Lahore High Court on Tuesday dismissed bail petition of a suspect involved in blackmailing female doctors through Facebook, WhatsApp and other social networking accounts. The suspect, Abdul Wahab Alvi, through his counsel argued that the case against his client was a result of media campaign and hearsay only. He said the prosecution had failed to produce any cogent evidence against his client.
Young Doctors Association's leader Dr Salman Kazmi told the court that the suspect used to blackmail female doctors through social networking website accounts. A deputy prosecutor stated that the data recovered from the suspect's mobile phone proved the allegations true.
