A Korean delegation visited University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and called on UAF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan at his chamber and discussed the collaborative work in dairy sector. The delegation comprises Dr Ha Hyunjae from Korea Cow Vet Clinics; Dr Nam Ki Taeg from Hankyong National University and Seo Oak and Wonsang Lee.
The meeting agreed to conduct researches on the improvement of nutritive value of milk and also researches on embryo. Talking to delegation, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that pasteurised milk technology needed to be promoted at village level to ensure nutritive value of milk. He said that the most of milk in the country is unprocessed which is unhealthy. He said that if we analyze the milk production in livestock sector, an animal milk production is only 2000 litres per annum compared to 8000 litres in the developed nations.
He said that animals are also facing the threat of the viral diseases, resulting in deterioration of milk and meat quality. He said that UAF was setting up pasteurised milk technology to promote the technology. He praised the steps being taken by the government for the development of dairy and agricultural sector.
