First Consul General of Turkey appointed in Lahore Serdar Deniz met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, here on Thursday. Matters of mutual interest and promotion of Pak-Turk relations came under discussion during the meeting. The Chief Minister congratulated Turk Consul General on his appointment in Lahore and said Pakistan and Turkey were tied in historical brotherly relations and hearts of people of both the countries beat together.
He said the government and people of Turkey had supported Pakistan in every hour of distress and people of Pakistan proud of their friendship with Turkey. He said the coup foiled by the people of Turkey under the dynamic leadership of great leader Racep Tayyip Erdogan was unprecedented in the history. He said tanks no longer stood before the power of Turk people and people of Turkey defended democracy successfully with courage and bravery.
Shahbaz Sharif said ties between Turkey and Pakistan were touching new heights and social and trade friendship would further enhance in the coming days. Speaking on the occasion, Turk Consul General Serdar Deniz said Turkey attached great importance to its bonds with Pakistan, adding Turk leadership and people also appreciated unprecedented capabilities of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
