Senator A Rehman Malik has appealed to US President Obama to veto the anti-Pakistan bills that were tabled by pro-Indian members of House of Representatives in the US Congress. "Both Ted Poe and Dana Rohrabacher are working for India under the Indian-paid lobbyists to isolate Pakistan internationally. Both the Congressmen are famous for their anti-Pakistan sentiments and favouring India," the Senator belonging to Pakistan People's Party said in a statement on Friday.
Malik who is also Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control strongly condemned the US congressmen Ted Poe and Congressman Dana Rohrabacher for moving anti- Pakistan bill in US Congress urging that US Congress should not impose US local law on other sovereign countries on the recommendation of some congressmen being manipulated by few lobbyists as it would go against the United Nation charters and International relations.
He termed the US Congress bills against Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as an attempt to create wedge between USA and Muslim Ummah that would alienate allies of war on terror and encourage terrorists. He said India was behind both bills to damage Muslim Ummah as whole.
The victim families of those who were killed in drone attacks by US in Pakistan and Afghanistan would go to courts against US and allies of war against terrorism, Senator Malik said. "Such moves / proposed Law are against the basic principles and norms of international law and relations which are based on equality between nations and the right of respective sovereign states like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, he said adding that element of mutual respect didn't permit imposing domestic laws of one country upon other countries on the request of Indian Lobbyist or anti-Saudis Lobbyist.
He alerted that issuance of such law would affect the world law and order and create atmosphere of mistrust in the international political arena and it would establish a dangerous precedent in the relations between global communities. He requested president Obama and the US congress to respect the sovereignty of other countries and take steps to promote interfaith harmony and bring the civilisations closer in the interest of international peace. He said President Obama, US citizens Congress too were aware of Pakistan's importance in the Islamic world, South Asia and its vital role in fighting against terrorism rendering numerous sacrifices with irreparable damages.
He said US legislation "Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act," and "Pakistan State Sponsor of Terrorism Designation Act" were specifically against Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and would make the United States vulnerable in other court systems around the world. He said that by encouraging such moves and laws, US will encourage other countries to use such law as a justification to pull each others' diplomats, foreign service members or even foreign companies into courts all around the world.-PR
