Poultry industry: government to solve problems on priority basis: minister

Federal Minister for Food Security and Research, Malik Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan has said that the government will take up the poultry industry's problems on the priority basis and help the industry exploit its true business potential.
While speaking at the opening of Pakistan Poultry Association's (PPA) International Poultry Expo 2016 at expo centre Lahore, the minister said the government was aware of duties, taxes and other issues that poultry industry is facing and will follow them up in the light of the Association's recommendations.
He added that the government was working for provision of level-playing field for all industries and to create a win-win situation for the country and business. The poultry industry's contribution in this regard has always been encouraging. The minister said the poultry industry was developing at the pace of 10 percent per annum helping to meet the meat requirements in the country.
IPEX 2016 will last till 24 September. Some 185 companies from 12 countries including China, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium associated with the poultry industry are participating in the IPEX 2016.
Chairman Pakistan Poultry Association, Rai Mansab Ali said that once poultry industry was being run in traditional way but now the situation had entirely changed and the industry is rapidly growing following international standards.
