Nawaz may 'attack' Supreme Court, warns Imran

29 Sep, 2016

Referring to previous conduct of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Wednesday expressed his apprehension that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif may attack the Supreme Court of Pakistan in case a verdict is announced against him in a petition regarding Panama Leaks. He also suggested Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to provide security to the Supreme Court.
While talking to media outside his party office here, Khan claimed that the election commission connived with the prime minister to rig the general elections in 2013. Khan said that 30th September will turn out to be a new day when people will decide the fate of rulers. While condemning the arrest of farmers, Khan appealed them to take part in the rally and also vowed to support them in Punjab where, he said, they were facing arrests at the hands of police.
He also invited lawyers, students, doctors, engineers and members of the civil society to fully participate in the rally because it will be a day to decide the nation's fate. He urged the people to come out of their homes to support the national cause against corruption.
Earlier, Khan had expressed his reservations over the arrest of farmers and said that he will personally protest outside the police station if police arrested them. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is all set to hold a historic march as claimed by Imran Khan who personally visited different places in Lahore and requested the workers to participate in the rally. On Wednesday evening, Imran started his tour of the city from Badami Bagh. He addressed party workers at Bhati Chowk, Nasir Bagh, Ichhra, Mughalpura, Liberty and Wapda Town.
