The city police and Rangers Wednesday conducted joint search operation in the limits of Koral and Khana police stations and nabbed 15 suspects. A police official said that following the directives of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the Rangers, personnel of intelligence agencies and police conducted a door-to-door search operation in various areas of Koral and Khana police stations and nabbed 15 suspects including proclaimed offender.
The police also recovered huge cache of weapons including Kalashnikovs, pistols, and hundreds of rounds, he said. He said the police shifted the suspects arrested during the operation to unidentified location for further investigation. He said the high-ups of the police strictly directed all Sub Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) to enhance patrolling as well as checking in their respective limits to ensure foolproof security in Islamabad. The official said that directives have also been issued to police to conduct checking and search of workshops, bus stands and hotels on regular basis.
