Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) London on Sunday dismissed Farooq Sattar from the party's primary membership. MQM London's senior members Mustafa Azizabadi, Qasim Ali Raza, Wasay Jaleel and Muhammad Ishfaq have said that no one other than Nadeem Nusrat is the selected convenor of the party.
According to the statement issued through a press release from London, Farooq Sattar's name has been excluded due to repetitive "affirmation of treason".
The press release states that Farooq Sattar has no right to impose organisational decisions on the public whereas he is also not the parliamentary leader of MQM.
MQM London has also appealed to all its members in National and Provincial assemblies to resign while respecting the sacrifices of martyrs.
The press release further says that party workers and public should believe all such statements of Nadeem Nusrat which have been endorsed by the leader himself.
Earlier MQM Pakistan on Saturday named party leader Farooq Sattar as convenor of its Rabita Committee, amid major reshuffle in party rank and file.
MQM Pakistan turned down the offer of party's London chapter leader Nadeem Nusrat to rejoin the party founder by tendering an apology.
The committee named Amir Khan as senior deputy convenor, while Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui was designated as deputy convenor.
The party inducted Kishwar Zehra, Faisal Sabzwari and Abdul Wasim in the Rabita Committee, which oversees major organisational affairs.
The MQM Pakistan also revoked basic party membership of Ashraf Noor and Akram Rajput. The two had been members of the Rabita Committee.
