Veteran politician and leader of Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) Rasool Bux Palijo on Sunday announced to restore his old Awami Tehreek (AT) party while parting ways with QAT.
At a press conference at his residence here on Sunday, Palijo announced that he had restored AT and parted ways with the QAT, which is being headed by his son Ayaz Latif Palijo as an elected President.
Palijo accused his son of deviating from the ideology of the party.
He said time and again he asked his son to ensure conformity with those ideologies but he failed to comply.
Palijo informed that he had restored the Awami Tehreek and formed an organising committee under his leadership to form the provincial, divisional and district chapters of the party.
The organising committee includes 50 members, he added.
Palijo announced that the AT would hold its first party convention on October 23 while on November 5 a peasant conference would be organised.
Dr Rasool Bux Khaskheli, Zahida Shaikh, Noor Ahmed Katiar, Dildar Laghari and other leaders were present on the occasion.
