Chairman Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao has called for immediate merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in order to end exploitation of the tribal people. Addressing a public meeting in Khazana area of Peshawar on Sunday, he asked political parties not to politicise the issue.
Prominent figure of the area Tanveer Khan announced to join QWP during the meeting.
Sherpao said tribal people have rendered numerous sacrifices for Pakistan and are still fighting for the country but no steps have been taken for development of FATA.
He stated people of FATA have decided to join KP and now steps should be taken to realise the decision without any delay. He criticised Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf for his indifferent attitude towards the issues of smaller provinces.
"Because of outdated system of power supply and transmission lines, it is impossible to end load shedding in KP due to which the province will not be able to reap the benefits of CPEC. This is a planned conspiracy intended to deprive the people of KP from the development projects of CPEC and we will take up the issue at every forum and will continue to fight for the rights of Pakhtuns," he added. He urged international community and UN to take notice of India forces atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.
