Book on 'Human Resource Management in Industries of Pakistan' launched

Numerous public and private universities offer business administration, a mature discipline in Pakistan. However, there is scarcity of indigenous textbooks in this discipline. Some headway was made in this direction when, on Mon, 3 October 2016, a ceremony was arranged by PAF- Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology, to book launch "Human Resource Management in Industries of Pakistan" authored by Raza Kamal, an assistant professor in the College of Management Sciences.
The ceremony was attended by professors/management from other universities in Karachi besides the student community. The textbook has been published by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, under the Book Writing Scheme launched by HEC. The manuscript went through a rigorous evaluation before publication. HEC Islamabad will distribute copies to universities itself.
The book is not priced and will not be available in the market; however demand for additional copies can be placed to HEC by universities. The author pointed that the book contains HR practices by industries in Pakistan interspersed by viewpoints' by imminent Pakistani scholars. He urged greater cooperation between academia and industry to understand each others problems.
Air Vice Marshal Tubrez Asif President PAF KIET speaking on the occasion lauded the efforts of Professor Raza and said he was an asset to the organisation. The textbook covers the concepts and theory related to this subject but in context to Pakistan. The author is a retired lieutenant colonel as well as a graduate of IBA.-PR
