Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Higher Education, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has directed the Vice Chancellors of public sector universities of the province to complete their model statutes within next two months after the issuance of letter from Chancellor Office and get it approved from Senate and Syndicate within the due time.
He issued these directives while presiding over a high-level meeting of the public sector universities here Tuesday. The meeting constituted a committee to be chaired by VC University of Peshawar Professor Dr Rasool Jan to submit written recommendations in next 15-days for better governance in provincial higher education department. Vice Chancellors University of Peshawar Dr Rasool Jan, University of Benazir Bhutto Women University Razia Sultana and Agriculture University Peshawar Zahoor Swati, Pro-VC Islamia Collegiate Dr Noshad Ali Khan and Project Director, University of Engineering and Technology Imtiaz Ali Gillani are the members of committee.
On this occasion, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said that provincial government was doing sincere efforts to bring real improvement in education sector, adding that the government was committed to make higher educational institutions of KP, the actually high quality educational institutes to make the future of youth more secured. He said University Act was drafted after hectic efforts and in consultation with educational experts and it aimed at introducing high standard of education at higher educational bodies. The meeting was also attended by Senator Shibli Faraz, Additional Secretary Higher Education Department Khalid Khan, Director Higher Education Commission Awais Khan, official of Law Department and Vice Chancellors of different universities.
