The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved nine development schemes of various sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 5513.231 million including three clean drinking water and sewerage projects costing Rs 1.5 billion. The schemes were approved in the 19th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2016-17 presided over by the Punjab Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan.
Secretary P&DD Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also attended the meeting. According to Spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included:
1. Establishment of 100 Bedded Tehsil Level Hospital at Manawan (Rakh Chabil) G.T. Road, Lahore at the cost of Rs 599.662 million
2. Provision of Clean Drinking Water, Sewerage System, PCC and Allied Service Facilities in Sabzazar and Adjoining Abadies, in NA-121, WASA, LDA, Lahore at the cost of Rs 500.089 million,
3. Provision of Clean Drinking Water, Sewerage System, PCC and Allied Facilities in Ravi Road, Islampura and Adjoining Abadies, Lahore at the cost of Rs 494.326 million,
4. Provision of Clean Drinking Water, Sewerage System, PCC and Allied Facilities in Shimla Pahari and Adjoining Abadies, Lahore at the cost of Rs 500.00 million,
5. Construction / Re-Construction of road from Banglow Sultan Pur to Noorewala Banglow via Vigh Langarwala Pull Jallah Bala Sahiba Banglow Awan Wala along Ghazni Rajbah, length 41.00 km, Sargodha at the cost of Rs 631.639 million,
6. Rehabilitation of Dualized road from Sargodha to Makhdoom Interchange (M-2) length 42.00 km, Sargodha at the cost of Rs 1370.35 million,
7. Widening / Improvement of road from Pandorian (M-3) Interchange to Shahkot via Sangla Hill (length 32.90 km), Nankana Sahib at the cost of Rs 567.031 million, Rehabilitation of Nankana-Mangtanwala Road (length 17.00 km), Nankana Sahib at the cost of Rs 426.80 million and Widening/ Improvement of Kotla Arab Ali Khan to Kharian (Carpeted Road) length=21.60kms, Gujrat at the cost of Rs 423.334 million.
