FPCCI decides not to participate in IITF 2016

Pakistani exhibitors have decided not to participate in India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2016 to show solidarity with government. Some 110 stalls were booked by the Federation Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) for the Pakistani exhibitors, however now they have unanimously decided not to participate in the fair, which is the one of the largest exhibition of India.
A meeting of Fairs and Exhibitions of FPCCI was held at Federation House and presided over by Khalid Tawab, Senior Vice President (SVP). Abdul Rahim Janoo, Chairman Fairs and Exhibitions FPCCI also present. The meeting was also attended by a large number of regular participants of India International Trade Fair 2016. During the meeting Indian government's attitude toward Pakistan was criticised and all participants unanimously decided that FPCCI will not participate in IITF 2016, which is scheduled from November 14 to 27, 2016 at New Delhi. The meeting was attended by the participants from Karachi and Lahore through video link.
Khalid Tawab told Business Recorder that the decision of not participation has been taken to express solidarity with Government of Pakistan. "It was further decided that no participants from Pakistan will participate in IITF even in the private capacity", he added. He informed that Pakistani companies were participating in the side fair from the last eight years and a very attractive for the domestic venders. However, the exhibitors has prefer the country's image and decided not to go India for this fair.
