Chak Jhumra Police have registered a case against 5 top officers of the Faisalabad Dry Port Trust on charge of embezzling a huge amount of 25.3 million of Rupees from the Dry Port Funds. The accused include: Nasar Hayat,General Manager, Naveed Imra, Manager Operation, Rana Nasarullah, Deputy Manager, Tariq Saeed,Import Officer and Farhan Ali, Manager I.T. The case has been instituted on complaint of Colonel Amer Majeed (Retd), General Manager (Administration)Dry Port.
In his complaint lodged with Police,under section 408 PPC it has been alleged that the accused inflicted a financial loss of rupees 2,53,00,000 to Faisalabad Dry Port and the former General Manager, Nasar Hayat, also took away a new Car valuing at Rs 19 Lac, costly Mobile and Laptop. after quitting their jobs, the accused manipulated to get re-employment of the Dry Port in 2015 with the help of some influential Trustees of the FDP.
According to Nazir Ahmad Chishti, Secretary,Dry Port Trust, Four of its Employees, Naveed Imran, Rana Nasarullah, Tariq Saeed and Farhan Ahmad left their job without any intimation to the Management and They including General Manager, Nasar Hayat, were forcibly retired by the Dry Port Management.
The misappropriation of the FDP Funds came into light when Audit Firm accompanied with Internal Manager Audit, conducted a comprehensive Audit of the Dry Port Books and Ledgers. and this large scale embezzlement in the Dry Port Funds was surfaced. The Chak Jhumra Police was raiding a number of places to arrest the embezzlement case accused but they have reportedly been gone under-ground. However, the Investigating Police was confident to arrest them very soon.
