A delegation of Chinese investors met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and expressed keen interest in investment in industrial sector in Punjab. Chinese investors showed willingness in setting up of a state-of-the-art industrial zone in Punjab adding that they want to develop a big industrial zone in Punjab, which include establishment of various industries.
Talking to the Chinese delegation, Punjab Chief Minister said that Pak-China relations have converted into useful economic cooperation after China Pakistan Economic Corridor. He said that CPEC has opened new chapters of Pak-China friendship. China is investing $46 billion in Pakistan under CPEC and Chinese investment will increase with the passage of time, he added.
He said there are vast opportunities of investment in Punjab. Shahbaz Sharif said that all out facilities and incentives are being given to Chinese investors in connection with investment.
He welcomed the decision of Chinese investors regarding setting up of industrial zone and said that all possible facilities will be provided to Chinese investors in this regard.
Sun Tao, head of a renowned Chinese group was leading the delegation. Chinese Counsel General Yu Borne, Provincial Minister for Industries Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq, Chairman Planning & Development Jehanzeb Khan, Haroon Shaukat of Punjab Investment Board, Secretary Industries and Chairman PEDMIC were also present on the occasion.
