Bangladesh beat England by 34 runs in the second one-day international to level the three-match series 1-1 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday. Mahmudullah Riyad struck the highest 75 runs and captain Mashrafe Mortaza made 44 off 29 balls to help Bangladesh reach 238-8. Mortaza then picked up 4-29 as the hosts dismissed England for 204 runs in 44.4 overs. Fall of wickets: 1-25 (Kayes), 2-26 (Tamim), 3-39 (Sabbir), 4-89 ( Rahim), 5-113 (Shakib), 6-161 (Mahmudullah), 7-169 (Mosaddek), 8-238 (Mortaza)
Earlier, Chris Woakes, Jake Ball and Adil Rashid each grabbed two wickets as England restricted Bangladesh to a modest 238-8. England, who chose to bowl first in a bid to wrap up the three-match series after winning Friday's first game by 21 runs, made regular breakthroughs after Woakes struck twice in his opening spell.
Ball, man of the match last Friday with five wickets on debut, kept up the pressure when he bowled Sabbir Rahman for three. Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim put on 50 for the fourth wicket to steady the innings before Ball struck again. Rahim, who made 21, top-edged the paceman to fine leg where Moeen Ali took a superb catch.
Bangladesh's woes worsened when star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan departed for three after gloving a delivery from Ben Stokes down the leg side to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler. Mahmudullah and Mosaddek Hossain lifted their side from a precarious 113-5 with a 48-run sixth-wicket stand before leg-spinner Rashid struck.
