A seminar on peace, tolerance and harmony was held here at main campus of Tanzeem Al-Lisan under the arrangements of Divisional Information Office Faisalabad. MPA Haji Khalid Saeed was the chief guest on the occasion while member Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen Committee Punjab Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Anwar presided over the seminar. A large number of citizens belonging to different walks of life attended the seminar.
Addressing the seminar MPA Haji Khalid Saeed said that Peace was imperative for the national development for which we should promote love, brotherhood, tolerance and religious harmony. He said that the present govt was taking various steps for ensuring the durable peace in the society.
Highlighting the salient features of National Action Plan, he said that ban on use of loudspeakers was being strictly implemented to avert any chance of hatred speech which could be caused to create unrest in the society. He said that NAP was being followed in letter and spirit to overcome the menace of terrorism.
Haji said that the Punjab govt had made elaborated arrangements for ensuring foolproof security of Muharram processions and majalis besides promoting the religious harmony. He appreciated the role of Ulema and members of Peace Committees for extending all out cooperation to maintain peace and religious harmony. He stressed upon the promotion of sentiments of love, tolerance and religious harmony by the Ulema and Zakreen by their sermons.
He also lauded the efforts of Information Department for holding seminars on different topics for raising awareness about the positive trends and the steps taken by the Punjab govt for the reformation of the society.
Member Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen Committee Punjab Maulana, Muhammad Yousaf Anwar highlighted the message of Islam relating to the tolerance, harmony and patience and said that Islam is a religion of peace and teaches us the lesson of giving respect and honour to each others. He said that we should forge unity to defeat the conspiracies of the enemies of Pakistan for disrupting the peace.
